Wednesday morning, the Madison County Chamber of Commerce presided over the groundbreaking ceremony held for the new Homewood Suites coming to Town Madison. Due to heavy rains, the ceremony was moved inside of Toyota Field which sits adjacent to the project site. Chris Chavis, president of PHD Hotels, is developing the four-story hotel and has partnered again with Fite Building Company for the construction of the hotel. Town Madison developer Louis Breland, Madison Mayor Paul Finley and Madison County Commission Chairman Mac McCutcheon were in attendance at the ceremony.
Fite Building Company is proud to be selected as the general contractor for this project along with the currently under construction Fairfield Inn that is nearing completion in downtown Decatur, also developed with PHD Hotels. The hotel will have 100 rooms and is categorized as one of Hilton’s upper brands, an extended stay in which every room has a kitchen. The hotel features meeting space, a swimming pool, a firepit, a business center, a guest laundry and innovative hotel technology.
