About This Project

Fite Building Company served as the design-builder for a new 350,000-square-foot transmission tower manufacturing and galvanizing facility for Nucor Towers & Structures (NTS) in Decatur, Alabama. Located within the Nucor Industrial Park adjacent to the Nucor Steel mill, the project was developed to expand NTS’s capabilities in delivering engineered solutions for utility infrastructure and construction projects.

Delivered through a comprehensive design-build approach, the project included engineering, procurement, construction, fabrication, and installation services. The state-of-the-art facility was designed to support high-capacity production of transmission towers while integrating advanced galvanizing operations to improve efficiency, durability, and quality control.

Constructed in partnership with Nucor Towers & Structures and Design Innovation, the facility represents a major investment in regional infrastructure and manufacturing growth.
