Breaking Ground on History: Fite Leads Construction of UNA’s First University-Owned Stadium

Fite Building Company is proud to serve as the general contractor for Bank Independent Stadium, a landmark project for the University of North Alabama. As UNA’s first-ever university-owned stadium, this 59,708-square-foot facility represents a historic milestone for the campus and its growing athletic program.

Delivered through a design-bid-build approach, the stadium will feature:

A modern main concourse
State-of-the-art amenities for athletes and fans alike
An underground tunnel connecting to the existing field house
A complete renovation of the baseball hitting facility

In partnership with the University of North Alabama, Davis Architects, and HPM, Fite is honored to help bring this transformative vision to life. More than just a stadium, this project reflects UNA’s long-term commitment to student-athletes, school spirit, and campus growth.
